The Learning for Life Center

The Learning for Life Center (LFLC) was founded in 1998 by LaVetta Westphal-Rolfs to provide a resource for personal and community creative exploration and growth.

It is LaVetta’s dream that the LFLC provide a nurturing space to allow people of all ages to find the bravery and the will to deal with the issues in their lives. Our facilitators are open and compassionate to assist everyone in feeling supported and valued. We seek to provide opportunities for people to learn and grow, becoming more conscious and more conscientious in their lives. Acceptance is how we support and assist one another. We seek to provide a community centered connection; a teaching place, a classroom for Earth School, where people can find their own way, grow in their own paths and co-create a compassionate way of being for everyone.

In addition to the Compassionate Communications classes offered by LaVetta Westphal-Rolfs, the Learning for Life Center currently offers classes in yoga, a variety of meditation practices, music therapy and drumming on a weekly basis by a staff of independent professionals. We are also home to some very talented massage therapists and energy healers. The LFLC also hosts special events throughout the year bringing many talented healers, speakers and educators to Topeka.

The LFLC offers Justice Pricing for most regular classes, a concept where members of the community, that have made a commitment to participate on a regular basis receive a lower price than people who are just dropping in, and we encourage those who are able to contribute a bit extra so that no one is ever turned away, but the teachers and facilitators still get reimbursed for their time and talent.

Check our calendar and our class and service offerings for more specific details.
