Yoga

Connecting body & mind = YOGA

Year 2012 – Day # 5

Grateful for our new yoga teacher, Ratna,

Ratna Doing Triangle

and this Serendipitous Day of connecting my body and my mind (yoga means yoking the body and the mind) to the rhythms of earth time. Everything seemed to flow easily today, with morning Birthday Wishes for my daughter, Rachel, seeing our NEW WEBSITE begin to take shape (thanks to Verne), taking David Yarrow to the Topeka Food Coop this afternoon, and doing yard work at home, and finishing in the late afternoon just before dark.

We, here at The Learning for Life Center, enjoyed the 72 degree temperatures. We even sat in the garden today, didn’t wear jackets, and everything seemed surprisingly like Spring. I am guessing that this was just a teaser, however, and that the cold and snow will return. And, we hope you return (or join us for the first time) to attend our early morning Yoga Classes, warm up with a cup of herbal tea and a great workout with our awesome new teacher, Ratna Radakrishna. She will guide you through an hour and a half of wonderful and energizing Yoga, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, beginning at 8:00 a.m. and ending at 9:30 a.m, in plenty of time for you move on with your day!

FAQ’s

Q. How long does each class last?

A. All of our yoga classes last 1½ hours. Why? Because we want you and your bodymind to have time to transition and warm up, move into asanas (poses) of invigorating yoga and then to have plenty of time for meditation and relaxation (shavasana) at the end of your yoga experience.

Q. What happens in a Yoga Class at The Learning for Life Center?

A. During the main part of the yoga class, students will be stretching and warming up muscles (the ones you had forgotten you had – “Hello Body”.) As class progresses, you will be guided through a series of movements to encourage those wonderful organs of your body to detox and bring more energy and oxygen to every cell of your body!

Q. What do I need to wear? What do I need to bring to class?

A. Wear comfortable layered clothing, and plan to practice barefoot using a yoga mat. You may borrow a yoga mat from us or bring your own.

Q. What is the cost of Yoga Classes at The Learning for Life Center?

A. Each class costs $10 if you drop in. If you enroll for a 1x per week class and pay ahead for the whole month, cost is $35. If you choose to come once a week, you get the VERY BEST DEAL by enrolling with 3 other people. Then each person will only pay $25 per month – All four for only $100 per month!

We also are offering really cool specials for attending more than one time per week. If you come two times per week, the cost goes down to only $45 and if you come three times per week, you get an even better deal and pay only $55 for the entire month! Cost per class is less than $5 per class / half of the drop in fee!

We look forward to seeing you on Mondays, Wednesday and now FRIDAYS too for Morning Yoga at 8 a.m.

Namaste,

LaVetta
