Four Oaks Farm,  Sustainability

Free To Be You and Me at Four Oaks Farm – Sat. Jan. 7, 1 – 4 p.m.

Grateful all day long for my daughter,Rachel Beth Rolfs, whose birthday we celebrated yesterday.  I keep thinking about her birthday celebration last night where she was gifted a butterfly magnet, as you will see in the photo.  What a perfect gift for the beautiful and powerful free spirit who has emerged to announce to all of Kansas (and the world) that she is FREE!   She is choosing to grow her own food, to live her own life and to choose to live with beauty, simplicity and sustainability as her goals.  I am also incredibly grateful to our spiritual community supporting her as an emerging butterfly visionary!   Rachel’s vision invites us to co-create a community in which we grow and eat food together, and also grow wings to free ourselves from old patterns, which bind us to relationships, jobs, institutions, unhappiness, reactivity and negativity.

There is no spoon!

I marvel at the strength and wisdom Rachel embodies.  Her energy is literally feeding the unfolding vision and manifestation of  “Four Oaks Community Farm!” The butterfly on the spoon is the perfect symbol for the laughter and fun we all have in community like the lighthearted beauty of the butterfly.  The spoon symbolizes eating, serving, and sharing food, with the invitation to learn to feed ourselves.

And GUESS WHAT???   There is no sign up sheet, no waiting period, no need to plan too far ahead.  If you would like to participate in this vision, you can do so TOMORROW!!!!  You are invited to visit Four Oaks Community Farm tomorrow, during this Spring-like lull in Winter.  Come for our first Community Work / Play Day to clear out the Greenhouse and begin creating compost!  Join us tomorrow, Saturday, January 7, 2012, beginning at 1 p.m. at 1916 NW Gordon, Topeka KS 66608 (Just south of Jacksons Greenhouse on NW Lower Silver Lake Rd).
