Gratitude For Our Growing Group
Great Gratitude for the Group!! The group of people who showed up to explore, work, and play today at Four Oaks Farm was quite an active and energetic bunch. We each showed up when it was convenient and easeful in our schedules, worked as long and hard as we wanted, learned lots, shared great information and brainstormed and envisioned the possibilities of the greenhouse being up and running sooner than later. The temperature was cool, the skies gray, the mood welcoming, the energy excellent, the learning curve steep for some of us, and the fun quotient exponentially wonderful!

Art worked on the tiller. Jim cleared a path to the “Other Side.” Verne checked out the plumbing in the shed in preparation for a bathroom and sink facilities. Brad brought an entire truckload of leaves for the growing compost pile. LaVetta found tools and took pictures. Carol creatively chopped and carried. Rachel worked and worked and worked! Together we almost cleared out the whole huge greenhouse and prepared for the next step. I wonder what that will be.

As we ponder what the next steps will be, I believe it is up to each of us to decide! We each make choices every day as to how to spend time and energy. We can’t really put it in the bank and save it, however, each morning we get a new deposit into our daily living account. We invite you to consider spending a bit of your precious life energy growing, sharing, appreciating and eating food grown right here at Four Oaks Farm. We invite you to become part of a group dedicated to learning to live sustainably. You can, of course, choose your level of participation. For instance, you might drive by and wave at us, join us on work/play days, come play music while we work, think of what you would like to be eating next August and help plant those seeds, bring your paints, charcoal or camera and create art, write a grant to help fund this cool community endeavor, write poetry, donate tools, money or time, buy the food that we produce, or send positive golden light energy our way, as we co-create Four Oaks Community Farm!!
