An Opportunity for Learning and Life: Scared Sacred

2012 – Day #87 – April 28, 2012

Last night we watched Velcrow Ripper's film, Scared Sacred. I am grateful for the folks who came to view it and to discuss how this impacts us as we move into quite uncertain times. However, I was also Wishing that EVERYONE I KNOW AND CARE ABOUT (and that is a LOT of people) had been at The Learning for Life Center last night to view it! I am so motivated, after seeing it with a group of folks from age 10 to 95, that I want to see it and show it again and again and again! AND, I want as many people as possible to have the gift of meeting Velcrow in person and catching a bit of the passion and “fierce light” that he embodies!  The rich opportunity for community building and the “fierce and wise light” that was shared by the group, especially one of the 10 year olds, makes my life wonderful, tangible and amazing as I see Learning for Life in ACTION!

And now, I am faced with a dilemma.  I invited Velcrow Ripper to come to Kansas because I guessed that people would like to connect with him and view his amazing films, and spend a day with him at the Learning for Life Center. And if that wasn't feasible, they would find the time to go to Lawrence on Saturday evening and see the film, Fierce Light, and meet him afterwards for a Q & A time.

It appears that I might be incorrect. Only a few people have signed up for the “Day with Velcrow Ripper” on April 7th. Time is getting closer and closer and my anxiety is increasing. I realize that, because of family priorities, I haven't been very faithful in getting the word out recently to remind folks of this upcoming event. However, I have a request; I would like you to take time to consider what a unique opportunity this is, and I am connecting with you today to ask you to consider doing any of the following things:

  1. Buy or rent the films, or watch them online( just google the titles) and share them with others.
